About Me
Growing up in the suburbs of Memphis in western Tennessee, I became the designated "family photographer" at an early age and always enjoyed taking photos at family events and photographing nature and wildlife subjects. In 2022, I left the Memphis area and moved to the Alabama Gulf Coast where I became mesmerized by the unparalleled sunrises and sunsets which I witnessed on my daily walks along the area's beautiful beaches.
I began my current photographic journey in early 2024 by capturing coastal scenes with my iPhone 15 Pro Max's ultra-wide and telephoto camera lenses which produced some impressive images, a few of which I have included in this website. However, I quickly realized the iPhone's limitations for serious photography, and I purchased a Fuji X-T4 mirrorless digital camera body with a Fuji 16-80mm F/4 zoom lens. Early in 2025, I added a Fuji 50-140mm F2.8 zoom lens to my equipment arsenal for close-up wildlife photography, and I began traveling to destinations as far away as the Big Bend region of Florida to further explore the diversity of life along the American Gulf Coast.
The images you'll find in my Stephen's Spectacular Gulf Coast Shopify store are the result of many hours and many miles of enjoyable and memorable beachcombing at all hours of the day and night in an ongoing attempt to capture the incredible natural beauty of the American Gulf Coast in unique photographs which are transferred onto archival-certified canvas using commercial-grade, UV-resistant outdoor inks with a pleasing semi-gloss finish which can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
